The Los Gatos-Saratoga Union High School District has filed a measure for a 7 May special election for an extended and increased parcel tax. The LP of Santa Clara County has announced that it opposes this measure.

Taxpayers last approved a $49/parcel tax, which was supposed to end. This measure, if passed, would renew that $49/parcel tax and add another $79/parcel on top of that, for nine years, representing a 161% increase over the previous rate. (The measure will appear on the special election ballot, which will be conducted by mail, as "Measure A".)
